"It is necessary for the leaders of the Krishna consciousness movement to start educational institutions in different parts of the world to train children, starting at the age of five years. Thus such children will not become hippies or spoiled children of society; rather, they can all become devotees of the Lord. The face of the world will then change automatically."
 

His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada; The Founder Acharya of International Society of Krishna Consciousness is the name of one such personality who 55 years back brought a spiritual revolution  in the whole world by propagating vedic teachings. The impact he created on the minds of the people he came across especially in western countries like America turned them from hippies to happies. Till date millions of people around the globe are availing the benefits of the teachings imparted by him through his writings and behavior. They are finding long lasting happiness by following a devotionally centered life simultaneously looking after other facets of life like education, career, family etc. He was of the strong opinion that children are our future hope so they should be trained nicely and cautiously right from childhood in an appropriate manner. The way a bamboo when green can be bent and given any desired shape, similarly these tiny tots must also be trained in a Krishna Conscious environment right from early childhood so that they get to know the real meaning of life and endeavor accordingly.
Vaikuntha Fun School is one of the nonprofit institutions that is operating exclusively with a core idea of character building of children right from the age when they are tender and most receptive so that best can be carved out from their inherent talents to shape their personality.

His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj is a real visionary of Vaikuntha Fun School. His ardent desire was to create such an institution where the children can learn spiritual education apart from the material education which they are already getting easily from other institutions. The purpose is to make them understand the importance of this rare human birth so that they prioritize their actions and become successful in every walk of life.
Practically looking around, we observe that the graph of the number of educational institutions is rising high every single day. Even the government is also trying hard to open schools and colleges in every nook n corner with the idea of providing education for all. It is a saddening fact that in spite of it people are not happy, crime rate; suicide rate is increasing day by day. Therefore one can easily conclude that these institutions are somewhere lacking in providing overall development of the children. The main reason behind it is that they are just focusing on one aspect of life completely while neglecting the other due to which an imbalance is created. Considering the emergency of the situation VFS has come out as a boon wherein that neglected trait is nourished and thus children are developed holistically. The way a musical ornament creates melodious sound only when all of its parts are fine-tuned, similarly there will be peace and harmony in the society only when these blooming buds will be trained in every aspect of life right from childhood so that later on they remain ready to bear all of their responsibilities happily.

Childhood and innocence are two complementary terms as both are an integral part of each other. It is because of this fact only that a special emphasis is laid down to train the children appropriately right from their early formative years as it is the time when their innocence is at its peak.

In Srimad Bhagavatam 7.6.1 Prahlada Maharaj says :

kaumāra ācaret prājño, dharmān bhāgavatān iha
durlabhaṁ mānuṣaṁ janma, tad apy adhruvam arthadam

​

"One must practice the activities of devotional service right from the tender age of childhood if he wants complete perfection of human life."
 

Following the teachings given in the scriptures under the guidance of present and previous acharyas helps one in driving towards this perfection. VFS under the aegis of ISKCON is one such institution that is helping children to shape their character and behavior so that they learn to work towards their ultimate goal and set an example in front of all.

The word ‘Vaikuntha’ in Vaikuntha Fun School is noteworthy. Here it represents the innocence that each child possesses in abundance before he gets associated with modes of material nature. It is a known fact that ‘old habits die hard’ so children should always be motivated to develop the right habits and flawless character from the beginning itself so that later on they don’t get in the trap of any problematic situation. Children with strong moral character always emerge successful in every sphere of life.
Likewise ‘Vaikuntha’ the term Fun is also very remarkable. Anything that doesn’t last long mustn’t be considered as Fun as when it un-manifests; becomes the source of grief or pain. Here at VFS, children have imparted education in such a manner that they learn while having transcendental fun.
